Title: Quantum technology in cyber defense

Abstract: With the rapid development of computers and networks, new technologies and services are being generated, evolved, and promoted constantly, bringing great convenience and changes to people's life. Over the next 5-10 years, we will see a flux of new possibilities, as quantum technologies become part of this mainstream computing and communicating landscape. Quantum technologies can offer advantages for cyber security research. To view this positive aspect, we should consider the possibility of including quantum steps in protocols with the aim of achieving certain improvement compared to the corresponding fully classical setting. This presentation will explore quantum-technology solutions in the 21st century and their role in cyber security. The speaker will also share the most relevant results of the projects she has worked on.

Biography: Gabriela Mogos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing, School of Advanced Technology at the Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), Suzhou, China. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Alexandru Joan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. She followed this with a postdoctoral research position at the University of Oradea, Romania.

She was awarded research grants through the European Union - FP6 and POSDRU programs; Prometeo Program - National Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Ecuador; and Coherent Control of Complex Quantum Systems Group – Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.

Between 2014 and 2016, she developed 2 bilingual (Spanish – English) master’s degree programs IT&C Security at Escuela Superior Politecnica de Chimborazo, Riobamba, Ecuador and from 2018 to 2019, she helped launch the first Cybersecurity track in Saudi universities.

Her research interests are in the areas of Quantum cryptography, Cybersecurity and Information Security, and are driven by a strong desire to bridge computer science and quantum physics, to design new quantum cryptographic protocols, and, to embed quantum-safe equipment in large networks. The newest line of research is in developing an experimental proof of concept of a quantum biometric fingerprint system. The quantum fingerprint system can solve the tasks infeasible to classical computers improving the current biometric system in terms of algorithm complexity and image protection.

Title: Creating Immersive Learning Solutions in Business Education: Integrating VR Content into classroom-as-organization supported by a Learning Management System and Virtual Reality Technology

Abstract: Creating Authentic Learning Environments that mimic real-life workplace situations encountered by accounting professionals raises several challenges for educators. Our study aims to respond to those challenges by proposing a learning prototype that enlightens the benefits of the Classroom-as-Organization model instructional model supported by a Learning Management System combined with a 360° and Virtual Reality immersive learning platform. The learning prototype integrates Virtual Reality digital content focusing on three levels of instructional design so that it can fully replicate the real-life contexts of a business organization. This chapter provides an overview of the course structure and components at each of those three levels, along with guidelines for instructional design. The prototype represents a suitable alternative to business simulations and 3-D virtual worlds to create technology-driven immersive learning experiences. However, more efforts are needed to provide instructional design methodologies to assist educators in creating similar immersive learning experiences.

He joined the Educational Development Unit of the Academy of Future Education at XJTLU after seven years in academic roles at International Business School Suzhou where he acted as an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Accounting. At International Business School Suzhou, he led the IBSS@Data Mining Lab initiative for technology-driven teaching practices in accounting and related areas. He strongly advocates innovative and technology-enhanced Learning and teaching practices at XJTLU. Before his academic career, Dr Jean-Yves Le Corre had ten years of corporate experience in several positions at multinational corporations as a controller, internal auditor, and management consultant. He founded a consultancy practice in 2006 to train and coach business executives on several subjects including risk management, internal audit, multicultural management, and leadership, covering China and South-East Asia regions.

He holds an Engineering Diploma from ENSEM in France, an MSc. in Management from the University of London, and an MSc. of Research in Management granted by the consortium of CFVG's Doctoral Programme in Vietnam (Franco-Vietnamese Centre of Management). He obtained his PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration) from Bulacan State University, Republic of the Philippines. He is a Sloan Fellow from the London Business School (UK).

Dr Jean-Yves Le Corre is currently also a researcher at Ecole Doctorale Augustin Cournot, BETA-UMR 7522 CNRS, University of Strasbourg (France). His research aims to investigate educational models in Virtual Constructivist Learning Environments (VCLEs), psychological factors in collaborative learning, as well as the role of socio-cognitive processes in instructional design, with a particular perspective on the field of managerial control and management accounting education.
